Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has expressed his unhappiness at the fixture list over the Christmas period.

The Premier League is the only league in Europe that plays 3 games over the Christmas period. The fixtures fall on the 26th December (Boxing day) the 29th December and the 1st January (New Year’s day)

Van Gaal has spoke about the lack of time he will have to spend with his family over the festive period.

Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli will miss Liverpool crucial Champions League game against Ludogorets on Wednesday evening.

Balotelli who got injured whilst on international duty with Italy was hoping to be fit for Liverpool’s upcoming Champions League game.

But Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the striker has not travelled with the club.

Speaking in a press conference prior to the game Rodgers said “We need to be more tenacious, more aggressive and have a greater capacity to defend better as a team.

Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge has vowed to bounce back stronger from his latest injury.

The Liverpool striker has not played for Liverpool since the end of August after suffering a thigh injury whilst on international duty.

The 25 year old is now likely to be out until the end of January 2015 after suffering another thigh injury in training.

Sturridge said “Through all this I'm growing as a man and an athlete.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has suffered a further injury setback after the striker after hurting his thigh in training on Monday.

The severity of Sturridge’s injury has not yet been confirmed, however Sturridge has suffered from muscle problems since August.

Sturridge has not played a league game for Liverpool since August, his absence has been cost Liverpool greatly leaving them 11th in the Premier League.

Manchester United midfielder Daley Blind has suffered knee ligament damage whilst playing for Holland in the European Championship group stages,  the injury may see him miss the rest of the season.

The severity of the injury is not yet known, however it is rumoured that Blind twisted his ligament in the first half of Holland’s 6-0 win.

Following the game Holland manager Guus Hiddink said "I'm rather negative," he said. "I think it's a medial ligament that is twisted. It might be a rupture."

Football Agents or Intermediaries?

Football Agents may be a thing of the  past next year.  Instead they are to be replaced by a term called "Intermediaries."  The new Regulations are not without criticism. However FIFA are determined to put into place a new system of Regulation.  In its preamble it refers to is obligations to players and clubs:

But for many years Football Agents have been getting bad publicity for the work they do. Football Agents are seen as “money grabbers” however here at Football Agents and Sports Lawyers we take a different view of the situation.

Chelsea and Brazil midfielder Oscar has signed a new contact at the Premier League leaders.

The contact will see Oscar at the club until 2019. Oscar has made 15 appearances this season for Chelsea in all competitions and has been a key part in Chelsea’s unbeaten run so far.

Following the singing of his new contact Oscar told the clubs official website “I am so happy because I love playing for Chelsea and living in England. I have enjoyed playing here for two years, and now I have five more, so I am very happy

Swansea City rally back from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Liberty stadium.

Arsenal found themselves 1-0 in front in the second half when Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez put the visitors in front.

Swansea found themselves level in the 75th minute after a great free kick from Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Swansea substitute Bafétimbi Gomis scored the winner after only 90 seconds of his substitution.

West Brom striker Saido Berahino has earned his first England call up after an impressive start to the Premier League season

Berahino, who is only 21 has scored 8 goals in 13 games in the Premier League making him England’s top goal scorer in the Premier League so far.

Following the announcement England manager Roy Hodgson said “The reasons are quite obvious, not only because he’s done so well for his club but for the Under-21s team too,”
