Liverpool perfect for Sterling

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has stated that Reheem Sterling could be a legend at the club if he commits his long term future to the Merseyside club.

It has been reported that Sterling has been offered a contract extension by Liverpool but there is a dispute over the players wages.

Sterling has also been linked with several big name clubs including Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea and PSG.

Speaking about Sterling Gerrard said “I think this club is perfect for him, certainly for the next few years. He's going to play most weeks and the fans love him here.

Capital One cup Semi Finals draw

The draw for the Semi Finals of the Capital One draw was made last night creating some interesting ties.

League 1 side Sheffield United was drawn against Premier League struggles Tottenham whilst Chelsea was drawn against rivals Liverpool.

Following Liverpool’s 3-1 away win to Bournemouth manager Brendan Rodgers said "It will be a fantastic tie,"

"The most important thing was getting through, but our performance was brilliant.

Johnson out till after the Christmas period

Liverpool right back Glen Johnson has been ruled out for at least a month with a groin injury.

The defender picked up the injury in Liverpool’s 3-0 loss against fellow rivals Manchester united.

This is Johnson’s second groin injury of the season, the right back missed 6 weeks in June.

Liverpool is well covered at the fall back passion with Manquillo, Moreno, Enrique and Flanagan all available for selection.

Europa League draw

The draw for the last 32 of the Europa league was made on Monday resulting in some interesting ties for the UK based teams.

Merseyside clubs Everton and Liverpool will face Young boys and Besiktas respectively.

London club Tottenham will face Italian side Fiorentina whilst Scottish club Celtic will face Italian giants Inter Milan.

Champions League last 16 draw

The draw for the Champions League last 16 has been made today in Nyon with Chelsea and Manchester City both facing tough opponents.

Chelsea have been drawn away against Paris St Germain whilst City was drawn against Barcelona at home.

Current holder Real Madrid was drawn against Schalke whilst Arsenal play French side Monaco.

I’ll stay at City for life

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has confirmed he would like to spend the rest of his career at Manchester City.

Hart who is 27 joined City from Shrewsbury in 2006 for £600,000.

It has been rumoured for several months that Hart is close to signing a long term contract at the club, he said “As far as I am aware it is pretty much sorted,"

"I leave it to the legal side to sort but I am very happy at this club and hopefully in the near future I will be signing that contract."

Watch out for the sharks

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed he is keen to avoid the sharks in the last 16 of the Champions League draw which takes place on Monday 15th December 2014.

Mourinho was speaking after his side 3-1 victory over Sports Lisbon which seen the Premier League leaders top group G.

Chelsea was unbeaten in the group stages winning 4 of their 6 games and drawing the other 2.

Following the game Mourinho said “We don't fear anybody, but we know there are very good, strong teams still in this competition,"

The draw for the FA cup 3rd round was drawn last night with several all Premier League clashes to take place.

A repeat of last year’s final was drawn seeing Arsenal face Hull at home.

Back the team or stay at home

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has told the Leicester City fans to support the club or stay at home following their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.

Leicester started brightly and took the lead in the 22nd minute after an own goal from Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana then levelled the scoring in the 26th minute before Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard put the Merseyside club in front.

Leicester defender Wes Morgan was then sent off in the 63rd minute before Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson sealed the 3 points for Liverpool.

Neuer named in 3 man shortlist

Bayern Munch goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been named on the Ballon d'Or 3 man shortlist.

The has only ever been won once by a goalkeeper, goalkeeper Lev Yashin won the prestigious award back in 1963.

Neuer has had a outstanding season with club and country winning the league and cup with his club Bayern Munich, he also won the golden glove award in the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
