Neuer named in 3 man shortlist

Bayern Munch goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been named on the Ballon d'Or 3 man shortlist.

The has only ever been won once by a goalkeeper, goalkeeper Lev Yashin won the prestigious award back in 1963.

Neuer has had a outstanding season with club and country winning the league and cup with his club Bayern Munich, he also won the golden glove award in the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

Neuer has been listed alongside two previous winners, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Last year’s winner Ronaldo has won the award once whilst Messi won the award three times in a row between 2010 and 2012.
