Analysing the Action (Manchester United v Club Brugges)
Delightful Memphis Depay stole the show Tuesday night, rescuing Manchester United from a disastrous start with two sublime goals and an excellent assist in their 3 – 1 victory over Club Brugges in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier.
Depay’s first goal was fantastic, controlling the ball with his chest before flicking the ball over the defender's head and firing low past the keeper. But his second was arguably even better. As shown on our tactics board a smart pass inside the full back from Daley Blind started the move; from then on it took just three touches for Depay to bag his second.
His first touch saw him cut inside the helpless Dion Cools, his second to tee himself up and with his third touch he curled the ball exquisitely past the keeper from the edge of the box.
