Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo wins the Ballon d’Or for the second time in his career. The 28 year old won the prestigious award yesterday in Zurich. Ronaldo has had an impressive 2013 starting 59 games, scoring 69 goals, having 15 assists and scoring 8 hatricks.

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott ruled out for up to 6 months

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott is ruled out for up to 6 months with a anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee which requires surgery. Theo Walcott twisted his knee in the closing stages of the 2.0 win over Tottenham on Saturday. Theo Walcott is ruled out for the rest of the season and is also ruled out of the 2014 world cup. Arsenal football club confirmed “Theo will have surgery in London in the near future and is expected to be out for at least six months, therefore missing the remainder of the season and the World Cup in Brazil in the summer.

Millwall appoint Ian Holloway as new manager

Millwall Football Club have confirmed that Ian Holloway has been appointed as there new manager. The club have confirmed that Holloway has been appointed on a two and a half year deal which will keep him at the club until 2017.  Holloway left his old club Crystal Palace earlier this season after stating he could not turn the team around after their poor start to the season.

Millwall’s chairman John Berylson has confirmed that he thinks Holloway is the right man for the club and will back him financially in January.

Cardiff City appoint new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Cardiff City Football Club have appointed there new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after sacking there old manager Malky Mackay. The former Manchester United forward has signed a short term contract with the bluebirds with an option to extend his contract. At the press conference shortly after his appointment Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed his ambitions for the club “Short-term the most important thing is getting points and performances, but longer-term, finishing above Swansea must be an aim," he said with a smile”.

Liverpool striker commits his future to the club!

Liverpool Football Club has today confirmed that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has signed a long term contact with the club. The announcement was made following rumours that Suarez was ready to commit his further to the club. The official Liverpool Football Club tweeted a photo of Suarez signing his contact, the official twitter page tweeted “#LFC are delighted to announce Luis Suarez has signed a new long-term contract with the club".

Sergio Aguero out for up to 2 months

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed Sergio Aguero is likely to be out for up to 2 months with a calf injury. City’s leading goal scorer Aguero limped off during the 6.3 win against Arsenal.  Following the game Aguero tweeted that he would be missing for at least a month. If Aguero is out for 8 weeks he will miss the mouth watering clash against Liverpool on Boxing Day and may also be injured for the Champions League tie against Barcelona in February.

Tottenham sack AVB

Tottenham Hotspur has today confirmed that Andre Villas-Boas contact has been terminated. The sacking comes after a 5.0 home defeat to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon. The Tottenham statement says “"The club can announce that agreement has been reached with head coach, Andre Villas-Boas, for the termination of his services. The decision was by mutual consent and in the interests of all parties." Spurs start to the seaspm has been poor and the club has struggled to score goals in the league.

Should Liverpool try to recruit Steve Clarke

Former West Bromwich Albion manager and Liverpool assistant manager Steve Clarke was relieved of his job on Sunday following his side’s 4th strength defeat. The West Bromwich Albion boss suffered a 1.0 defeat to fellow strugglers Cardiff City. Steve Clarke has had a dismal 2013 only winning 20% of the games in 2013 however, in his first season Clarke had a club record total at the end of the 2012-2013 season winning 14 of the 28 games and securing 49 points.
