Villas Boas Set For Tottenham

Former Chelsea manager Andres Villas Boas is set to sign for Tottenham following a recent unsuccesful stint at Stamford Bridge. Harry Redknapp was sacked as Tottenham manager controversially after guiding them to a 4th place finish. Talks regarding the Managers job at Tottenham are understood to be going successfully, and Villas Boas is likely to be the new man at the helm within the next 24 hours.

Andres Villas Boas has had a successful career for such a young manager. He managed the British Virgin Islands at the very tender age of 21. He had a short spell there before taking up a scouting role as part of Jose Mourinho's backroom staff at Chelsea, Villas Boas also worked with Mourinho at Inter Milan. Boas soon left Inter hoping for a management role of his own, he filled the vacant position for relegation threatened Academica and guided them to a solid 11th place. This led to a large amount of interest from elsewhere, including giants Porto. Villas Boas then signed for Porto and had a very successful season at the helm, winning the Portuguese cup, Primeira Liga, and most notably, the UEFA Europa League. This success did not go unnoticed, and Villas Boas was soon announced the new Chelsea manager after Carlo Ancelotti's departure. This spell was the low-point of Villas Boas' career after several arguments with Chelsea's senior players and large runs of poor results. Boas was relieved of his management duties at Chelsea and since has been linked with several vacant managerial positions.

Villas Boas now looks set to sign for one of Chelsea's biggest rivials, Tottenham Hotspur for a deal that is believed to be for around 3 years.
