RVP fires Manchester United into the quarter final of the Champions League

Manchester United has overhauled a 2.0 deficit to qualify for the quarter final of the Champions League.   Manchester United needed to win by at least 3 goals in order to qualify for the quarter final of the Champions League.

Robin Van Persie was awarded a first half penalty which was converted to put the Premier League champions in front. Robin Van Persie then scored on the brink of half time to put Manchester United level with Olympiakos on aggregate. Van Persie then completed his hatrick shortly after half time which saw Manchester United qualify for the last 8 of the Champions League.

However, it was not a great performance by Manchester United who again looked troubled in defence. Olympiakos had several key chances in the match to secure their place in the Champions League. Manchester United goalkeeper DeGea should take a lot of credit for his sides progression after a heroic double save from Perez and Fuster.

The draw for the Champions League quarter final ties will be drawn on Friday the 21st March 2014 at 10AM
