Premier League champions still searching for first win

Premier League champions Manchester City suffered their second defeat in the Champions League in four games.

City found themselves 1-0 behind after only 2 minutes of the first half, however 6 minutes later in the 8th minute City defender Yaya Toure equalised for the home side.

CSKA Moscow striker Doumbia scored his second goal of the night in the 34th minute putting the Russian side ahead.

In the 70th minute City midfielder Fernandinho was sent off for a second bookable offence, in the 82nd minute Yaya Toure was also sent off for a second bookable offence leaving City with 9 men for the remaining 8 minutes.

After the game City manager Pellegrini said “It's very difficult to understand why we played so badly,”

"From the beginning we were so nervous. We lost so many passes and we gave them the two goals. Really, we didn't play.

“It’s difficult to know why you have so low a performance. In the way we tried to play we have not changed anything we did in any other games. I realise it’s a very difficult and strange moment to understand why it happened.

"I don't think it's just this competition. I think in the last two weeks we are not playing bad, but we are not playing the way we normally do.

“I don’t understand why, but we must find the reason to arrange the solution.

“The performance of the team depends on individual performances and, I repeat, it’s difficult to understand why we are at this level.”
