LAURENT BLANC THE NEW MAN UNITED MANAGER?

The former PSG manager is at Old Trafford tomorrow night in the first round of the Champions League knockout stages. Is he there only as an interested spectator heavily involved in both sides in the past, or is it the future murmuring of an anticipated role at Man U this summer?

The Time reports that ‘It has been more than two and a half years since he led a team, released by PSG in the summer of 2016 only a few months after agreeing a contract extension beyond three seasons that had brought eight domestic trophies out of a possible nine.

Blanc, 53, has had plenty of time to get that sacking out of his system and makes very clear his eagerness to return. “It has been a while,” he says, sitting in the lounge of a smart Parisian hotel.

“It’s time to get back in.” Interesting but with the baby assassin doing an unbelievable job who can sack him?
