KOLO TOURE A MAN OF RARE HUMILITY

[By Ronnie Hutcheon, Football Agent & Lawyer]

I read an article about Kolo Toure in the Independent over the Weekend which reflects on a truly honourable person - a humility that sets him apart from most 'materialistic' players.

I was there at the Liverpool v Burnley match on Wednesday when, whilst he was warming up on the touch lines the away fans chanted:-

"Your just a sh#t Yaya Toure' were he responded by simply smiling to them and applauded the spontaneous banter.

Burnley fans laughed back with respect in their creative acknowledgement of their wit.

Similarly, at the Liverpool v Manchester city Game, before he was warming up, City Fans chanted his name.  He acknowledged their presence which was richly received.  The Liverpool Fans appreciated the fact he had a history with Man City and shared in the warmth of the appreciation.  Not so much Balotelli who was cheered by City fans only not to receive any acknowledgment from him.  Thereafter, Balotelli was only awarded with chants against rather than for him.

Invincible

But Kolo was part of the Arsenal invincibles 2003-04 season and helped City win the Premier League.  Kolo is said to be happy as a team player and never forgets his humble childhood. Truly a player of rare quality on and off the pitch.
