Free agent Cole signs for Roma

Former England and Chelsea left back Ashley Cole has signed for Italian side Roma on a 2 year deal with an option to extend for a further year.

Cole was released by Chelsea after being at the London club for 8 years, whilst at Chelsea Cole had won the Premier League, the Champions League, the Europa league and 5 FA cups.

Cole tweeted “Will never forget my time in England was a pleasure, but now onto a new challenge."

Cole has also announced his retirement from International football after being left out of the World Cup final 2014.
