England held by Ecuador

England was held by Ecuador last night to an exciting 2-2 draw at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami.

England, who fielded an inexperienced squad, found themselves 1-0, The goal was scored by Enner Valencia who rose higher then Luke Shaw to put his header past England goalkeeper Ben Foster

England who had started brightly found themselves level after 29 minutes as England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney tapped home from 2 yards.

England looked positive going forward with several young players making a statement to start against Italy. However, defensively England looked venerable which may worry England boss Roy Hodgson.

England took the lead shortly after half time when Everton midfielder Ross Barkley made an outstanding run to team up with Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert who struck the ball past Ecuador keeper Maximo Banguera.

Shortly after England took the lead Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was forced off with a suspected knee injury.

England found themselves level again with 20 minutes to go, Ecuador sub Michael Arroyo fired the ball past Ben Foster.

The game was however overshadowed by the 2 red cards shown to Manchester Winger and Liverpool Winger Antonio Valencia and Raheem Sterling. Sterling was shown red for a wild challenge on Valencia, Valencia was shown red for his reaction to the challenge.

England has 1 more friendly to play against Honduras on Saturday 7th June 2014 at 21.45PM.
