England ease past Switzerland

England have got their Euro 2016 campaign off to a flying start after beating Switzerland is Basel.

England was without several key players for the game against Switzerland including Liverpool duo Henderson and Sturridge.

Former Manchester United striker and now Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck started upfront for England with Rooney playing in the number 10 role.

Both side were unable to open the scoring in the first half, 59 minutes into the second half Danny Welbeck open the scoring following a great counter attacking play between England trio Rooney, Sterling and Welbeck.

Switzerland almost levelled shortly after when Marc Overmars beat the offside trap and rounded goalkeeper Joe Hart only to be denied by Chelsea defender Gary Cahil on the goal line.

England sealed the win into injury time when Welbeck scored his second following a counter attack between Lambert and Welbeck
