Champions League Round Up

Group A

Manchester United are faced with a tough test against Shakhtar Donetsk at Old Trafford. Group leaders Man United have qualified for the last 16, however this game could decide who finishes top of group A. Donetsk who sit second in group A and 3 points behind Man United will have to beat Man United by 4 goals to finish top of group A

Real Sociedad have been the surprise side in the Champions League this season but not in a good way, Sociedad has failed to win a single game this Champions League campaign and have only picked up 1 point in 5 games.  Bayer Leverkusen are playing for second place and are 1 point behind Shakhtar Donetsk with only 1 game remaining. If Donetsk fails to win against Manchester United and Leverkusen beat Sociedad then Bayer Leverkusen will secure the final place in group A

Group B

Group B leaders Real Madrid face bottom of the table FC Copenhagen, although Real Madrid have qualified as group leaders, FC Copenhagen can still secure second place. FC Copenhagen are 2 points behind second place Juventus who are faced with a tuff away game against Galatasaray. FC Copenhagen will have to relie on Galatasaray to beat Juventus and then FC Copenhagen will have win the league leaders for a chance to qualify

Second place Juventus travel to third place Galatasaray. This game is massively to both sides as second place is still not secure. If Juventus secure the win that will see them qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League, however if Galatasaray secure the win it does not automatically qualify them for the last 16. FC Compenhagen can also qualify if they can beat Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Group C

Group C leaders Paris St Germain has already secured there place in the last 16, PSG are unbeaten in group C having won 4 and drawn 1. PSG travel to Benfica who currently stand third in group C. Benfica are on level points with Olympiakos FC but are behind on goal difference. Benfica will have to beat the group leaders to have a chance to qualify for the last 16.

Second place Olympiakos FC face fourth place Anderlecht in the other game in group C. Anderlecht has struggled in the Champions League this season losing 4 of their 5 games and drawing the other. Olympiakos are level on points with Benfica but are ahead on goal difference, if Olympiakos win against Anderlecht it will mean that Benfica will have to beat PSG by a greater score.

Group D

Group D leaders Bayern Munich face Manchester City in a mouth watering clash. Although Munich and City have both qualified for the last 16 the first place position is still up for grabs. If Manchester City can win by 3 goals or more they will qualify as group leaders. The last time City faced Munich they was beaten 3.1 at home to the German giants, however City will be looking to win this game to qualify top of group D

Third place CSKA Moscow travel to FC Viktoria Plzen for their final group game of the season. Although either side will not be able to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League both sides still have a chance of qualifying for the Europa League. FC Viktoria Plzen are bottom of group D having lost all 5 of their games, however if they can beat CSKA Moscow by 3 or more goals they will qualify for the Europa League.
