Arsenal ease past struggling Newcastle

Arsenal has become one step closer to securing the final Champions League place after beating Newcastle 3.0 at the Emirates.

Newcastle who has lost their last 6 games found themselves 1.0 down after Laurent Koscielny headed the home side in front after 20 minutes following some poor defending from an Arsenal free kick.

The visitors found themselves 2.0 down 3 minutes before half time when Ozil placed the ball into an empty net following an outstanding double save from Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul.

The game was all but over in the 66th minutes when Giroud headed him a cross from Ozil to put Giroud on 15 goals for the season.

Arsenal need only 1 point to secure the final Champions League place.
