Argentina’s star striker Lionel Messi scored twice to ensure that Argentina would be winners of group F

Argentina found themselves 1.0 in front after Messi tapped home from Di Maria’s initial effort. However, there lead was short lived when Ahmed Musa put the Nigerian’s level just 1 minute after.

Messi then put Argentina back in front just seconds before half time with an excellent free kick which left Nigerian keeper Vincent Enyeama helpless.

Just 2 minutes after the second half had resumed Nigeria found themselves level for the second time in the match. However, just 3 minutes after Nigeria’s equaliser Argentina found themselves back in front when Rojo tapped home inside the 6 yard box.

Argentina who qualified as group winners will now play group E runners up Switzerland and Nigeria who qualified despite their defeat will play group E winners France.
