Since that time, it is reported that there are over 83 potential suspects into sexual abuse in football, historical in nature. The scale is alarming.</p> <p>This year, Kit Carson- a well-known football coach who worked with Norwich, Peterborough and Cambridge- was <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/mar/02/kit-carson-youth-football-coach-charged-with-child-sex-offences-against-11-boys" target="_blank">charged with sexual offences</a> against 11 boys between 1978 and 2009. This is just another element of an evolving story that involves hundreds of <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jan/18/police-confirm-500-potential-victims-sex-abuse-football" target="_blank">clubs and coaches</a> and <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.nspcc.org.uk/what-we-do/news-opinion/new-helpline-football-sexual-abuse/?_t_id=1B2M2Y8AsgTpgAmY7PhCfg%3d%3d&amp;_t_q=football&amp;_t_tags=language%3aen%2csiteid%3a7f1b9313-bf5e-4415-abf6-aaf87298c667&amp;_t_ip=91.84.12.230&amp;_t_hit.id=Nspcc_Web_Models_Pages_NewsPage/_e2b6eaaa-98be-4906-9519-66ea47cd2787_en-GB&amp;_t_hit.pos=2" target="_blank">thousands of victims</a>. Every two days, <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/nov/11/andy-woodward-one-year-on" target="_blank">on average</a> 5 victims have come forward. To put this scandal in scale, 285 coaches have now been accused of sexual abuse: the abuse scandal that rocked the Catholic Church in Boston and the rest of the United States implicated <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/special-reports/2002/01/06/church-allowed-abuse-priest-for-years/cSHfGkTIrAT25qKGvBuDNM/story.html" target="_blank">249 priests</a>. That scandal was of such significance it led to a <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1895587/?ref_=nv_sr_1" target="_blank">feature film</a> dedicated to its discovery.</p> <p>The crown court at Liverpool sentenced Barry Bennell- one of Britain’s most prolific paedophiles- to <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2018/02/19/sports/soccer/19reuters-britain-abuse-soccer-bennell.html" target="_blank">30 years</a> in prison for hundreds of sexual offences against almost one hundred victims which amounted to an act of <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/feb/19/barry-bennell-branded-sheer-evil-as-he-is-sentenced-to-31-years" target="_blank">“sheer evil”</a> according to Clement Goldstone, QC. Mr Gladstone made reference to the <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/02/19/barry-bennell-paedophile-football-coach-described-devil-incarnate/" target="_blank">“trail of psychological devastation”</a> left by Barry Bennell’s actions, and the testimony of his victims talks at great length about the <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43116870?intlink_from_url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/topics/cpml0mvd3wpt/barry-bennell-trial&amp;link_location=live-reporting-story" target="_blank">depression, anxiety addiction and suicidal thoughts</a> they experienced following their abuse.&nbsp;Individuals that experience sexual abuse are <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.nspcc.org.uk/globalassets/documents/research-reports/relationship-between-child-maltreatment-sexual-abuse-suicide-attempts-report.pdf" target="_blank">significantly more likely to self-harm or to possess suicidal thoughts</a> than members of the general populace, and so victims of such abuse often refer to themselves as <a rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/video/2018/jan/24/im-a-survivor-us-olympian-confronts-abuser-larry-nassar-in-court-video" target="_blank">“survivors”</a>.</p> <h3><strong>Unprecedented Footballers Who Have Been Abused</strong></h3> <p>For all connected with football the shock of these allegations cannot be underestimated. Obtained the consent from the other European Governing Bodies so all rules were embodied and ratified or</p> <p>2. In a recent study, females with high levels of testosterone have a competitive edge. 2,127 of the best performers by men and women in the athletics World Championships in 2011 and 2013. They experts compared the serum androgen chemical derivatives of testosterone found in blood. The study found the better performing athletes had high levels, they were on average 2.7% better in 400m and 400m hurdles; 1.7% in 800, 4.5% in the hammer, 2.9% better in pole vault. Some women naturally have higher levels of the male hormones. Males sprinters were also found to have higher levels. Even more so when the alleged payment was only last year.</p> <p><br />The Football Association's chief executive has insisted that it would not tolerate any hush money paid to victims of sexual abuse in football and will take action.<br />In The Times it is reported that Martin Glen the Chief executive of The FA:</p> <p><br /><em>&nbsp;“We have the rules which will apply if they’ve been broken</em>,” Glenn said. “<em>There has to be a situation where, if there are restrictive contracts through employment rule which prevent people speaking up about a crime, then it has to be resolved.'</em></p> <p><br />'I doubt there’s been a cover-up. The FA, since the late 1990s, has taken safeguarding extremely seriously.'</p> <h3>Reassure Parents - Football Sexual Abuse Claims</h3> <p>To reassure parents whose children are currently playing for football clubs up and down the land, the Football Association's Chairman Greg Clarke has said:<br />“Football is in a very different place today to what it was in the past. Football takes child safety very seriously. We had 55,000 police checks last year, and ran 30,000 courses to explain the basis of child protection. This is a very different world today. But, absolutely, there is total commitment.
